Church of England Diocese of Leicester The Presentation of Christ Leicester

St Peter's Highfields

St Peter’s Church is an important place of faith in the Highfields area of Leicester. It is the centre of the Church of England presence and worship in the community, particularly for the African Caribbean community, and from the basis of this faith, we welcome and offer hospitality to those of other faiths and none, to other cultures, indeed to the whole Highfields community.

We have a huge challenge ahead of us over the next few years as we seek to repair and renew our beautiful Victorian building and develop new facilities as we continue to demonstrate our faith through worship, hospitality, and service. Building work is underway.

The church community gathers together on Sundays at 11.00am and Tuesdays at 9.30am, and at other times to pray and celebrate.

Sung Communion

Every Every Sunday at 11 a.m. for 1hr

St Peter's Road

We have a sung communion service in our beautiful building, and everybody is invited.

We are known for our welcome, but don't just take our word for it, come along and gives us a try. We sing, listen to readings from the Bible and have a short sermon before breaking bread and sharing wine. Afterwards we stay for coffee and cakes, and a good chat.

If you have never been before, our church is worth looking round, so stay and find out about our Arts and Crafts inspired building, the history of Highfields and our legendary welcome. As Highfields continues to change, we aim to be a beacon of Christian faith for everybody.
