St. Faith’s Foodbank Satellite first birthday
On 22nd January St. Faith’s Foodbank Satellite celebrated its first birth. Our volunteers Andy, Gill, David and Margaret have been offering a warm welcome on Wednesday mornings to individuals and families in need of emergency food parcels. Citizens’ Advice Bureau advisers – firstly Zac and now Sara - have been on hand to provide advice and support.
St. Faith’s Foodbank Satellite provides emergency food parcels with enough food for three days. Food parcels have been provided for individuals, couples and families.
The Connect Café runs alongside the Foodbank Satellite providing fellowship over coffee and biscuits and creating a welcoming ambience.
Recently volunteers from the main Foodbank Distribution Centre at TS Vancouver have been visiting St. Faith’s Satellite to see how our model works. The main Distribution Centre will shortly be moving to the old St. James’ Surgery where there is space to offer refreshments and support in a larger and more welcoming environment.
If you are interested in volunteering or want to know more about the Foodbank please contact the main Foodbank directly on 07582 558143 or pop in to the Hub on a Wednesday morning between 10am and 12noon for a chat.
Thank you to all those who have donated items to the Foodbank over the last year, donations both cash and in kind are essential to the continued operation of the Foodbank.
