Today we celebrated our Patronal Festival in church with a joyful and prayerful service. We heard The Very Reverend Andrew Braddock preach on hospitality and welcome and rededicated ourselves as disciples on the way.
Saint Faith (Latin: Sancta Fides, French: Sainte Foy) was a young Christian girl and virgin martyr from Agen in Aquitaine, France who was tortured and executed during the Roman persecutions (traditionally dated to the late 3rd or early 4th century, around AD 287 to 303
She is the patron saint of prisoners, pilgrims and soldiers.
When you come into St. Faith’s church, you will find signs and symbols of our patron around the building - including a carved statue on the north side of the reredos.
