St Bartholomew's Church Gutter Project

Our Church needs to repair/replace the guttering and carry out pointing works - some sections are almost 190 years old. They leak allowing water to enter the fabric of the building and cause the walls to become damp – this in turn takes more energy to heat up the building when in use and is not good for the building structure.

We want to ensure the building is maintained for the use of our community, be it a safe space, a quiet place to call in and reflect, a place to shelter from the rain or sit down during a walk or cycle ride, a place to worship in, access support from the pastoral team, or to enjoy social events and special services throughout the year.

Our church belongs to the whole community and plays an essential part in village life. Repairs on an old building are never easy especially at high-level.

We’re planning on holding fundraising events specifically for this project during this period. We’re also asking if people might be willing to sponsor a section of the guttering or make a gift to the church by digital donation towards our project (for those who are UK Tax Payers - we can also claim gift aid on your donation). Cash/Cheque or BACS donations are still very welcome (we just can’t have them match funded as part of this specific fundraising trial).

It’s only a 6 week match funded grant scheme where we can double anything raised. We will also be a key voice in the feedback on the ups and downs of the trial. We’d like to see if we can really get behind it but understand digital giving might not be for you. We’re here to help if you are unsure about the ins and outs, safety etc. of digital payments
