‘The Reverend Jennifer (Jen) Bradley, currently serving as Assistant Curate at Kairos Church, Harrogate has been appointed as Interim Rector of the Benefice of Walkingham Hill in the Episcopal Area of Ripon in the Diocese of Leeds.Jennifer will be licenced in late March 2025 by Bishop Anna Eltringham, the Bishop of Ripon - 27th March 7pm St Oswalds, Farnham ’.We’d also like to thank Sarah and Brian Shipman for their amazing voluntary leadership during this period showing how committed they are to serving the community, the retired clergy who have kept things ticking over for almost 2 years along with the support of our dedicated PCC and a huge team of volunteers keeping the church open and looking its best for the community and visitors.
Our Church needs to repair/replace the guttering and carry out pointing works - some sections are almost 190 years old. They leak allowing water to enter the fabric of the building and cause the walls to become damp – this in turn takes more energy to heat up the building when in use and is not good for the building structure. We want to ensure the building is maintained for the use of our community, be it a safe space, a quiet place to call in and reflect, a place to shelter from the rain or sit down during a walk or cycle ride, a place to worship in, access support from the pastoral team, or to enjoy social events and special services throughout the year. It was great to see many people join in and take part on our Coronation community project - whether it was a couple of stitches or hundreds! <br><br>The kneelers were made with craft materials destined to landfill from the community scrap store the Cone Exchange in Harrogate, we’ve literally turned trash into treasure and given them a second chance to be used!
