Church of England Diocese of Leeds Grewelthorpe

Grewelthorpe: St James

We are continuing with public worship, although distancing restrictions mean that our main focus continues to be online services.

Please wear a mask in church and be aware that mingling with those outside your household is not allowed - that can feel a bit unfriendly, but God is still close to us as we worship.

We continue to run Zoom services every Sunday, and distribute orders of service by email or on paper to those who wish to join in worship in those ways. Please contact Ian Kitchen for more information. We also have a weekly Bible Study on Zoom.

On weekdays we urge you to join us at 11 am each day by praying for a few minutes in your own home. A brief Bible passage and reflection for each day can be found on this site as well as on our benefice website and facebook page.

St James' has now re-opened for private prayer in the daytimes, from Monday to Friday.

The parish of Grewelthorpe: St James is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
