Taking place on Saturday 13th September, Yorkshire Churches Day (YCD) is a chance for every place of worship in the county to open up and showcase the amazing history and heritage found inside their buildings.

The aim of the day is to encourage people to explore local churches even if they have never stepped foot inside one before. It will be a day for those who are curious about history and the heritage of their local surroundings. There will be refreshments available in some of the churches.

Winksley Church will be open from 1pm, please do not arrive before then as we have a Service of Thanksgiving.

Grewelthorpe: St James

Our churches have a range of services and welcome everyone to join us to worship and for fellowship. It's always worth checking our magazine, The Fountain, to see what other events are happening. You can find this, and other information, on our website - https://www.fountainsgroupofchurches.co.uk.

We are currently in a vacancy but our Associate Priest, Rev Andrew Cromarty is on duty Sunday to Tuesday.

All enquiries about baptisms, confirmations, weddings and funerals need to be directed to the administrator - email [email protected].

For matters regarding individual churches, please contact the relevant churchwarden.

We have a weekly Bible Study on Zoom.

The parish of Grewelthorpe: St James is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
