Welcome to St Philip's Church, Osmondthorpe, East Leeds

Welcome to St Philip's!

We are a growing church in the mighty, mighty city of Leeds.

We are in a season of new things after receiving a planting team from St Matts, Burley, and a new vicar, Rolf, in May 2022. As we seek a fresh vision for the church, we are committed to three priorities: worship - making Sundays unmissable; evangelism - seeking to offer a confident invitation to church and to following Jesus; and children and young people - serving those in our church, in our schools, and in our community.

The parish of Osmondthorpe: St Philip is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

If you enjoy a traditional Carol Service, have we got the ideal service for you!

St Philip's is hosting a traditional carols by candlelight service on Sunday 11 December at 4pm.

Not only are we singing carols,

Not only are we singing carols by candlelight,

But we are singing carols by candlelight with an exceptional full brass band!

Leading us are the Horbury Victoria Band, a full brass band. Horbury Victoria will raise the roof as they accompany our carols, as well as entertaining us with music before, after and during the service.

You can read about the band here: https://www.horburyband.co.uk/.../inf.../history-of-the-band

Everyone who comes is invited to stay for refreshments after the service of mince pies, mulled wine, tea and coffee.
