St Philip's invites you to experience a Christmas of joy

St Philip's invites you to journey with us to Bethlehem, the birth place of Jesus. Over three magical services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day you can learn more about the importance of Christmas, and come and see the Good News of Jesus.

The three services are each different in tone, length and focus, and are designed for different people and families.

Firstly, there is the CHRISTMAS EVE NATIVITY service, 4pm on Wednesday 24 December.  You may think you're too busy for Christmas Eve services, especially with small children, but we promise to leave you amazed and moved as we worship in candlelight as day turns to night on the most Holy Night of the year.  With traditional carols, ancient readings and a warm welcome why don't you come along to this 40 minute service with your family. You and your loved ones can gather around the Christmas Tree to sing and prepare for Christmas Day.

Then, for the adults (or those who aren't asleep) we gather at 11pm on Christmas Eve for the traditional MIDNIGHT COMMUNION service. We gather by candlelight to sing with just our voices to worship and welcome the new born king. We will share Holy Communion, hear ancient readings, and quietly greet the happy morn.  This is deeply moving and powerful. We start at 11pm aiming to finish shortly after midnight.

Finally, we have the CHRISTMAS DAY celebration, 10.30am on Thursday 25 December. This is a family-friendly, daytime chance to break into the wrapping paper and cooking, to make merry in church. Why not introduce a new family tradition of coming to church to hear the reason for the season? Why not come along to enjoy carols, singing, prayers and reading, alongside communion to celebrate the birth of Jesus?  This starts at 10.30am and lasts 75-90 minutes.

But this isn't all...

Before then we have our amazing Carol Service on Sunday 14 December, 4pm. Details in our services and events.

And over Christmas itself you'd be welcome to come along to church on Sunday 28th December or Sunday 4th January - we keep celebrating Christmas even after the New Year!
