St Martin's Parish Church Potternewton

A Warm Welcome to St Martin’s Church in Potternewton

We’re delighted that you’re here today. Whether you’re visiting for the first time, a regular worshipper, returning after some time away, or simply looking for a peaceful place to pause, you are truly welcome here.

We are a friendly and diverse church community, and we hope you feel at home among us. Please join us in our worship, our fellowship, and our shared life of faith. There is a place here for everyone.

All ages and families are warmly welcomed at our services and events as we gather in joyful praise and gratitude. Younger children are free to enjoy our dedicated play space in church, with toys and books whenever they need it.

St Martin’s Church seeks to be a prayerful Christian community at the heart of Potternewton, growing in faith and sharing God’s love. We are also blessed to be a part of the wider Churches Together Christian network, worshipping, witnessing and serving our communities.

As part of our calling, we work in partnership with the Mustard Seed charity to support and feed those in need. This takes place every Tuesday in the St Martin’s Institute.

Our main service takes place at 10:00am every Sunday and is a service of Holy Communion, to which all are welcome. For other services and events please see our What’s On Guide below.

Safeguarding

Christian communities should be places where all people feel welcomed, respected and safe from abuse.
This Parish Church of St Martin, Potternewton is committed to encouraging an environment where all people, and especially children and those who may be vulnerable for any reason, are able to worship and pursue their faith journey with encouragement and in safety.
To this end we have adopted the House of Bishops' policy for safeguarding adults in the Church of England “Promoting a safe church” and the House of Bishops' Child Protection Policy “Protecting All God’s Children” as the basis for our own Church policy and practice document.
These policies are available online at:
