We know we’re still growing in our autism awareness and sensory accessibility, but we’re committed to learning and adapting together. Our services are flexible, with space to move around, step out, or engage in different ways. As one parent recently shared: “They have been so welcoming to my Autistic son and tried really hard to help him enjoy and learn, even when he isn't acting like everyone else.”

There is a hearing loop installed in The Pathfinder School hall, which we’re more than happy to connect to when using that space for worship. If this would support your participation, just let us know when you arrive — or in advance via www.northstowe.church/access.
We don’t routinely print large print copies, but we’re very happy to provide them if requested. We also offer full service words by WhatsApp or email — even during the service — for anyone who would find it easier to follow along on their own device. Just ask!

We’re committed to being a church where everyone is truly welcome — across age, ability, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, mental health, and background. We’ve taken part in the Honest Church self-assessment process, helping us reflect honestly on how we support inclusion and where we’re still growing. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to becoming a more open, hospitable, and Christ-shaped community.

Our Building
Music and Worship
At Pathfinder Church, we’re growing an emerging group of musicians who help lead worship in a relaxed, all-age setting. We’re developing a canon of seasonal and diverse music — drawing on everything from traditional hymns and contemporary worship to global church songs and gospel recordings. We often use a mix of live and recorded music, both to broaden what we can offer and to ensure our musicians have time to rest and recharge.
If you play an instrument, sing, or are interested in helping with sound or projection, we’d love to hear from you! There’s room to grow together at your own pace.
Groups, Courses and Activities
We support and partner with the Northstowe Youth Hive, a youth-led space for young people to belong, create, and make a difference in their community. You can find out more at: www.northstowehub.org/youth
Young people are also welcomed as full members of our church — helping shape and take part in the gatherings of our various worshipping communities, including Pathfinder Church, Compline Community, and Chapel by the Lake. We believe faith grows best when everyone has a voice.
Pathfinder Church Club is our intergenerational after-school faith space, running on Thursday afternoons during term time at The Pathfinder School. Children explore Bible stories, big questions, and creative prayer alongside adults — through wonder, play, conversation, and craft. Some attend with a parent or carer, others come independently through school booking. It’s church — shaped for after-school life, and rooted in community.

We run seasonal courses (often during Lent or Advent) that help us go deeper in faith together — exploring Scripture, big questions, and whole-life discipleship. Alongside these, our Thursday evening gatherings (Compline Community) provide much of what people are looking for in a discipleship group: space to pause, pray, reflect, and share life with others.

Pathfinder Church isn’t a Messy Church in name — but our intergenerational, creative approach draws deeply on Messy Church principles: hospitality, celebration, all-age worship, and making space for real questions. Each Sunday morning we gather around tables at The Pathfinder School for a relaxed, participative service shaped by Scripture, prayer stations, conversation, and song — all designed to help people of every age explore and respond together in their own way.
We also run Pathfinder Church Club, a midweek after-school space for children and families to explore faith through story, creativity, and play. It’s church — but in a Northstowe way.
