S Ann (or Anne) is the dedication of the church built on the site of the Blackfriars Monastery after the Great Fire of London. She was the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary. But she is not in the Bible!!

The legends of Our Lady which tell of the birth of Mary and her childhood are a significant part of Christian tradition, and there are churches dedicated to S Ann, statues of her, and lots of art showing her, including two very fine post war stained glass windows at S Andrew by the Wardrobe.
