Our Building

This rather remote church was the Parish church but due to the difficulty of access (in the 1800s) a new St Peter was built (1860) at Offham. Both churches have the same dedication. This church is mentioned in the Doomsday book and was visited by King Athelstan in 925.
No toilets then and none now! And no electricity - services by candlelight in the summer months. It is the site of our open churchyard -reputed that over 3500 burials in the area. The Old Manor house was on the site of the 'new' churchyard.
