The Church of All Souls’, Leeds (Hook Memorial)

We are an inclusive, liberal, Anglo Catholic Church and welcome everyone to our building, services and events.

Our Associate Minister is the Rev Lynne Grey, who celebrates and leads most of our weekly services, whilst the Rev Nicholas Lo Polito is the Parish Priest and usually celebrates and leads our Solemn Mass on the 3rd Sunday of each month.

We are blessed to be custodians of the 'Hook Memorial Church', and continue to worship in the Anglo Catholic tradition, for which are Church was designed by George Gilbert Scott (his last design before his death) and built through generous donation from rich and poor as a memorial to Dr Walter Hook.  Dr Hook had been Vicar of Leeds and was responsible for taking Anglo Catholic Churches to (what were at the time) the outer districts of Leeds and to its working class people, many of whom were living in extreme poverty. Our beautiful Church had no expense spared on it, from its carvings, glass in its windows and fine Abbott & Smith Organ (showcase instrument as their workshop was further down Blackman Lane), and enhances and embraces our liturgy.

The parish of St Martin, Potternewton w All Souls, Little London is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
