Growing Community

St Luke’s Holbeck is a growing Christian community of all ages and backgrounds, rooted together in love, faith and worship of Jesus Christ. Through our words and actions, we seek to share with our community, and throughout the world, the life-changing love of God.

<span style="font-size: 1rem;">We're an Anglican church seeking to serve the areas of Holbeck and Beeston in South Leeds, West Yorkshire. We are a vibrant, diverse, lively and friendly congregation that comes together as a family to be church, whilst never losing a sense of the community we are drawn from and long to serve. We are an inner-city parish coping with all the challenges urban life presents. This makes for a very real, thankful and hopeful group of disciples.</span>

Our main service is at 10.30am each Sunday, marked by energy, noise, worship, notices, (Good) news, music, conversation, informality...

Strongly Evangelical, Traditionally Anglican, Gently Charismatic, Enthusiastically Noisy, Genuinely Welcoming, Excitedly Diverse.

We are a busy church with alternative services: monthly Early Kid Praise (for Toddlers), twice-monthly early-Sunday Communion (9.30am 2nd/4th Sundays), and a mid-week Communion (12.30pm Tuesdays). We hold alpha courses, Start!, discipleship courses, bespoke Bible Studies. Church hosts a Beaver/Cub/Scout troop, and a local twirlette group; in addition, Employability/Benefit support, food poverty sessions, and a toddler group on Tuesday mornings in term time. There is a strong visiting ministry as well.

We are a very family friendly church with a creche on Sundays and groups for 3+. Our Youth work is growing, with a bunch attending the Ripon venture camp each summer. We are seeking to grow our student work looking to partner with Student Linkup (Fusion).

Small groups form an essential part of our discipleship, pastoral care and mission. We have several that meet in the week, including a 20-30s group that gathers on a Wednesday evening for food, fellowship and faith chat.

There is also an enduring commitment to the older members of our congregation. We hold Over-60 meals throughout the year partnering with Holbeck Elderly Aid and HealthforAll.
