St. Aidan's Cumbria

Hello, and welcome to St. Aidan's Cumbria!

We are a church that exists to see God’s Kingdom come in Cumbria as it is in heaven, playing our part as a transformational community of intergenerational disciples contending for regional renewal. We meet every Sunday at 3 PM. Our services include heartfelt worship, engaging Bible teaching, and time to respond in God’s presence. Stay on for refreshments! Our church serves the Derwent Deanery, which includes the towns of Keswick and Cockermouth, as well as many of the surrounding villages along the A66 corridor, from Threlkeld to Dean, and Borrowdale to Plumbland.

Whether you're just starting out exploring faith for the first time, or you're looking for a church community to call your own, we would love to welcome you to visit us at St. Aidan's.

Join us for an hour at St. Bridget's Bridekirk, where we’ll worship, reflect on God’s word, and respond to all God does in our time together.

The 3PM is a gathering for everyone: no matter your age, experience of church, or where you are at with faith. You're welcome to come and join in, or just spend time with us and see what we're up to. We spend our gatherings all together and want to help people of all ages engage with God and one another.

We love children and young people here at St. Aidan's, and we believe that God does too. We believe that He has a plan and purpose for each of them; that he wants to draw near to them; and that they are a significant part of helping bring God's Kingdom here in Cumbria as it is in heaven. We want them to find a home at St. Aidan's, and for our church to be a place where firm foundations are laid for a lifetime of fun and adventure with Jesus.

Safeguarding

Jesus gave everyone status, time and respect. Jesus also showed himself to be compassionately on the side of those without power, reaching across social barriers with the inclusive love of God. A Christian approach to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults, as well as those in abusive relationships, therefore, asks both individuals and communities to create a safe environment for them, to act promptly on any complaints made, to care for those who have been abused in the past, and to minister appropriately to those who have abused.

Our Safeguarding Officer is Steve Weston. He can be contacted by emailing: [email protected]

The trustees of St. Aidan’s Cumbria have adopted the House of Bishops Safeguarding Policy for children, young people & adults, ‘PROMOTING A SAFER CHURCH’. We also adhere to the procedures laid out in the Church of England Safeguarding Policy and Procedures. The trustees annually review it's safeguarding policies, procedures and practices.

If you have a safeguarding concern, please contact [email protected] or [email protected].

If you have an immediate worry, please contact Cumberland Health and Social Care or the Police.
