About Us
During the Winter months the Church is open daily for private prayer from 9.00am to 4.00pm (weather permitting)
We are entering an interregnum as the Revd David Cowie is moving on to a new parish in Leicester. Our rota and times of service is therefore subject to change at short notice:
Sunday 23rd November at 11.00am - Holy Communion (Revd David's final service followed by refreshments).
Sunday 14th December at 10.00am - Morning Prayer - the third Sunday of Advent (followed by refreshments).
Following Revd David's final service with us on Sunday 23rd November there will be a short presentation followed by drinks and nibbles. Everyone is very welcome.
Normal 'wear and tear' means we have had to stop the church clock - but the good news is that following full restoration, including the clock face and the chime, it will be reinstalled at the end of November - and working as "good as new".
There was an Act of Remembrance in church on Sunday 9th November led by Mrs Barbara Guntrip., including the "reading of names". We are grateful to all who joined us and £70 was collected for the Royal British Region. WE also thank Steve & Di for the 'Remembrance' collage on the notice board. The village school had their Remembrance service in church on Tuesday 11th.
G O O D N E W S & Upcoming Events
The community coffee mornings, on the last Thursday in the month, continue to be well supported. We look forward to welcoming visitors old and new anytime between 10 am and 12 noon. The next event is on Thursday 28th NOVEMBER.
Don't forget to stay up to date with events via our Facebook page...where we will put details of the Village Christmas raffle and carol singing around the village on Wednesday 17th December (let's hope for good weather) ! .And look out for details of our next churchyard clean in spring next year.
We have a selection of religious books in our lending library in the Lady Chapel. Please feel free to browse or borrow a book or two. Also in the Lady Chapel is a collection of relics and artefacts found around the village and from the Manor House dig. Do take a look, and for younger visitors, why not try out the Children's Church Trail at the same time to learn more about our beautiful church. At the back of the church there is also a good selection of books and jigsaws for you to borrow, or buy for a small donation.
We are also most grateful to everyone on the cleaning and flower rotas - the church looks and smells beautiful.
Please feel free to make use of the organ or piano during the morning, both of which would benefit from a work out.
