Ride and Stride is an annual fundraising event where participants are sponsored to cycle, walk, or ride horses between historic churches and chapels. All of our churches are open on the day.
Goadby Marwood are planning a walk:
Please join us for a stroll through the rolling countryside. We will set off from Goadby Marwood Church at 9.00 am, follow footpaths to Eastwell, Eaton and Branston before returning to Goadby for tea and cake (approximately 8 miles).
Any donations will be shared between St Denys’ Church and the Leicestershire Historic Churches Trust.
It is great if you simply want to come along, but if you would like to get sponsored, we have forms or, you can be added to the village GoodHub online page.

Goadby Marwood: St Denys

Every three months, we host an Ironstone Churches Communion service at 10:30 a.m and we host Evensong on the last Sunday of every month..

Everyone is warmly welcome to attend these services and to stay for a coffee or glass of sherry afterwards.

Situated in the heart of this conservation village, the Grade 1 listed ironstone church was built around 1280 with additions in the 14th Century. It was restored and reseated in 1884.

The church is dedicated to St Denys. It possesses more carvings than most, with four gargoyles adorning the church tower and many stone faces found within. The attractively-patterned font dates from the 14th Century.

At the rear, the imposing Goadby Marwood Hall overlooks St Denys.
