Church End Nether Broughton Melton Mowbray, LE14 3ET, United Kingdom

Posada is a Mexican Christmas tradition which takes place during Advent in Spanish-speaking countries, The Spanish word "posada" means "inn" or "lodging". Las Posadas commemorates Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and their search for a place to stay. In our churches, small figures of Mary and Joseph travel around different households in the community and stay there for one night. It is open to everyone, and families find it is a wonderful way to be involved in the Christmas story. We are asking families to sign up in advance, offering to host Mary and Joseph for one night between 7th December and 21st December. The figures will be returned to the church at our Carol service as everyone prepares to welcome the Christ child once again.
