Billesdon: St John the Baptist

Welcome to the Parish Church of St John the Baptist, Billesdon. We serve our village of 745 people according the 2001 census which increased to 901 at the 2011 census. We are situated within the Harborough district within the county of Leicestershire and are bypassed by the A47, nine miles east of Leicester. The first church was built in Billesdon by 1162, which had been given to Leicester Abbey by William de Syfrewast. The present church is an ironstone building, on Church Street near the junction with Brook Lane. We are part of the Benefice of Coplow and within the Launde Deanery Minster Community.

We have services most Sundays however if you wish to find out about other services within our Benefice of Coplow see the newsletter available via this page. The Launde Deanery Minster Community website contains details of all the services within our Minster Community (at Welcome to the Launde Deanery Minster Community Website – see the Service Times tab).
