St Paul's with St Mary's, Wooburn

Welcome to the St. Paul's with St. Mary's ACNY page. The two churches work together for the whole community under the same ministry team. Whoever you are, wherever you are from, whatever your background you are welcome.

Our church is very friendly and truly multi-generational. There is always something available for children on a Sunday but it varies throughout the month, as planned by the leaders of what we call Sunday Club. In practice what that looks like is 1st and 3rd (and 5th) Sundays of the month the children have activities in the children's corner of the church. On the 2nd Sunday of the month we're all in the church hall for breakfast and our Messy Church - fun activities and worship around a central theme. Our 4th Sunday service has a more discussion based approach to the sermon, and the children are encouraged to join in, and also take part in the service by helping to read, and assist Paul at Communion time.

Sunday worship music is usually led by a band but we do also have organists for when we want something a little more traditional, and are looking at developing other more contemplative services. We also run Forest Church, which is always outside and is quiet and reflective, so we're trying to take a very inclusive look at how we gather together in order to make sure a wide range of people's needs are met. As you can see from above, children and families are a priority for us.

The parish of Wooburn is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
