Sunday 7th June 2026
After a wonderful Trinity Sunday service last week, we now step into the long green season of the Church’s year: the Sundays after Trinity, often called “Ordinary Time.” It is a slightly misleading name, of course. In the Church, ordinary things have a habit of becoming quite extraordinary once God gets involved.
This Sunday, Revd Richard will be leading us as we begin this season, and he will be preaching from Genesis 12:1–9, where Abram hears the call of God and sets out, not with a full map, but with a promise. It is one of the great beginnings in Scripture: a story of trust, journey, blessing, and the strange courage of going where God leads.
So do come this Sunday, and perhaps bring a friend or family member with you. Ordinary Time is a good season for those who wonder whether faith is only found in dramatic moments. More often, God meets us in the steady, faithful, Sunday-by-Sunday walking of the road.
Every blessing. Rev'd Mark
