It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Lesley Green, who passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 28th December 2025 surrounded by her family, following a <a></a>short illness. As Lay Reader & Churchwarden of St Andrew's, a dear friend to so many in our church family and wider community, her loss will be deeply felt. Due to her 40 year career at Newport Junior School and also as Guide Commissioner, there are few in Newport who do not know Lesley, or who have not experienced her warmth, friendliness and wisdom. Lesley will be sorely missed. A book of condolence will be available in church from Sunday 4th January - church is open daily from 10am until 3pm. Our thought and prayers are with her family.
We run a Warm Space café every week in the Church Hall, from 10 am until 1pm. We have lovely volunteers that greet you and bring you cups of tea, flavoured tea, coffee or fruit juices. There is always a selection of cake or biscuits available, all of which have a list of allergens alongside. There is a fresh bowl of fruit each week and bread with toast making facilities. We have a lovely lady (Bharti) from Citizens Advice Bureau that comes along every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month to help with any concerns. Each week there is a Chair Yoga session for a small charge. There are tables set up for people that would like to sit and do some art, this changes on a monthly basis or on request between line drawing, oil painting, acrylic painting and so on.There is also a selection of games available for anyone to use. ** NEW **Digital Skills advisor each 2nd Wednesday from 11-1pm -drop in and see Linda to sort those Tech Troubles!Volunteers needed!
