On February 2nd we celebrate the story of the six week old Jesus being brought to the Temple by his parents. There he is recognised by Simeon and Anna as the one who will bring light to the nations. Traditionally candles were blessed on this day, hence its popular name. This year February 2nd falls on a Sunday, and so this will be our main 10.15 service.

St Mary's Church, Ellesmere

Welcome to the home page for St Mary's Church Ellesmere.

We are the Church of England parish church for Ellesmere and we welcome everyone who would like to join us for our services.   We are towards the Catholic (high church) end of the Church of England, our worship is fairly traditional in style, in a relaxed and friendly way.  We have an able and enthusiastic choir.  We have a Sunday School at our main service at 10.15 on a Sunday morning.

Our vicar, Mother Pat Hawkins, is only too pleased to hear from you if you have any queries.  If she doesn't know the answer she will know someone who does.

If you would like to find out more about the life of the Church, or to inquire about a christening or a wedding please contact our vicar, Revd Pat Hawkins on 01691 622571 or [email protected].
