It’s coming up to Harvest time at our churches and Autumn is almost here with its changing colours and falling leaves. Here is a message from Rev Delphine and an activity to do at home until we meet again at a Messy Church session.Message from Rev DelphineHow many of you are getting ready for Harvest? If you are at school you will know all about this time of year’I think Eleanor’s ideas of “Falling Leaves and Planting Seeds” is a lovely way to celebrate Harvest .Harvest is a time of giving thanks for all that God gives us. Why not make a list of all the things for which we want to thank Him, and say a little prayer. There is another way of saying “thank you” and that is by giving . I know your Mums and Dads will be more than generous with donations to the Food Banks and other charities, but how about you? You could donate a toy to a charity shop, or put aside a little of your pocket money for a charity .You are welcome to visit the church yards of Acton and Bednall where there are Wild Flower Gardens, Bug hotels, a Garden of Hope , all of which are helping us to stop and think of our environment. We leave you with a small prayer for you to say this HarvestDear God,Thank You for the celebration of Harvest.Thank You for our foodThank you for the soil, the rain, the sun, and the farmers who grow our crops.Help us to remember to say thank you. Please help us always to think of the needs of othersAmenActivity to do at home When you are out on a walk, look out for acorns, conkers and other seeds and leaves of different colours and shapes and sizes and make a collection of them all. First of all you could make a collage of all your findings, like the one attached. Then you could plant a seed, maybe an acorn, in a plant pot of compost and wait to see it grow big and strong. It may take a while but keep caring for your planted seed (water it when it gets thirsty) just as God loves and cares for us.Best Wishes at HarvestEleanor, Delphine and the Messy Church teamHarvest Church ServicesActon 22nd Sept 6.30pmBednall 29th Sept 6pmFood donations please suitable for Foodbank- thanks
