Maundy Thursday Eucharist

Occurring
for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue
Penn: St Bartholomew
Address
Church Hill, Penn Penn Wolverhampton, WV4 5JD, United Kingdom

Communion service with anthems sung by our 4-part choir. There will be an opportunity for foot/hand washing as we remember Jesus's Last Supper with his friends. After the communion, the lights will be dimmed and the altar and other furnishings will be stripped, while the choir sings a psalm of lament in the traditional plainsong. We spend time in silence remembering the agony and desolation that Jesus experienced in Gethsemane, and the choir leaves "in disarray".

Penn: St Bartholomew

St Bartholomew's has served the people of Penn for over 1000 years. We hold a range of services to which all are very welcome. We also have a wide variety of activities regularly happening and we love to welcome visitors and new faces to our church family.

Safeguarding

The parish of Penn St Bartholomew is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of Lichfield’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advises PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services. Our Parish Safeguarding Officer is Pauline Hollington who can be contacted on 07881 911107.
