Because Jane's cousin Edward Cooper was rector of Hamstall Ridware in the early 19th century and Jane and her mother visited him in 1806 we have been taking a special interest in her this year. We had a splendid tea party in July and decided that we ought to do something on her actual birthday. So....

Instead of the Community Cafe normally held on the 4th Thursday of the month we held a special event on Tuesday December 16th to mark the 250th anniversary of the author's birth. Regency dress was donned for this one-off occasion by some which was crowned by a special light display by Lux Muralis. Tea and cakes were much enjoyed by all!
