Church of England Diocese of Lichfield Stafford St Bertelin

About Us

St Bertelin's church was built in the 1950s and dedicated in 1956 to serve the growing community in the north end of the county town of Stafford. It was formally consecrated as a parish church in 2013.

Its patron saint is Bertelin, (sometimes spelled Bettelin or Bartholm) who was a holy man in Stafford sometime in the 7th/8th century, and who is reputed to have died at Ilam in Derbyshire and to be buried there. His tomb can be visited in Ilam church. St Bertelin is the patron saint of the town of Stafford.
