St Peter's Stonnall is a very friendly Church of England church and we enjoy welcoming new people of all ages.
The Vicar is Reverand Liz Chamberlain and we share her with St John's Church Shenstone.
Our church building is on Church Road, at the top of a hill just south of the village. Most members are very actively involved in many Stonnall village activities and organisations. We are also delighted that we work in active partnership with our local Stonnall C of E Primary school (St Peter's), which achieved Outstanding Grade in its 2012 SIAMS Inspection and has been awarded "Beacon School status. Stonnall won the Staffordshire Village of the Year compettion in 2008 for its quality of community life.
Services are held almost every Sunday at St Peter's church, with the main service normally at 10.45am We hold special evening services from time to time, such as Ash Wednesday and Lessons and Carols.
Church members run a varied programme of enjoyable social events throughout the year. These are detailed on the calendar along with all the services.
A Lent course is held every year and sometimes it is held in conjunction with the churches in Shenstone.
The Friends of St Peter's Church Stonnall Association was established in 2008, which is open to all. It has now been granted independent charitable status with HMRC, so it can also receive Gift Aid. English Heritage have given our modest brick and sandstone church building Grade II listed status ( of special interest warranting every effort to preserve it)
St Peter's enjoys a close relationship with the neighbouring parish of St John's, Shenstone, with whom we share a vicar. Some joint services are held usually if there is a 5th Sunday in a month either at St Peter's Church or at St John's. A joint church away weekend every is organised every two years.
For queries about weddings, baptisms and funerals please contact [email protected] or 01543 480286. Our reader also regularly takes funeral services, held either in the church or at the crematorium. St Peter's Churchyard is open for full burials or burials of cremated remains. Requests for these are made via the Administrator. Please use the Vicar's postal address to contact us as our church building has no letter box. She can also be contacted by email via this website.
We hope you will come to visit St Peter's Stonnall and look forward to meeting you soon.
