Stowe Village Produce Guild – Garden Guild

Our March lecture was a very good history of sweet-peas and how to grow them. There are two varieties, the scented, large, show type and the smaller perfumed ones which were the subject of Phillipa Cooper's talk. sweet-pea seeds are often difficult to germinate so soaking before planting is a good idea. They are greedy plants so feeding from an early age is rewarding and a weekly potash feed once flowering starts. When arranging flowers instead of using oasis 'fibre floral' is now available.

Next meeting:   Our next meeting is on 18th June. Please meet at Village Hall no later than 6-30pm for our garden visit to Butt Lane Farm, Ranton.
