Stowe WI on Tuesday 11th August at 7-30pm in the Village Hall .

Over 40 members and guests attended the regular monthly meeting at Stowe W.I. on Tuesday July 14th. During the formal part of the meeting forthcoming trips and events for the ladies were spoken about, including the Open Meeting next month and Stowe Village fete where the ladies will be serving the Tea and Cakes. 

President Kath then introduced Analiza Jones who spoke about The Making of Handwoven Bags from The Philippines. Analize left The Philippines over 15 years ago. She told us there are 7,600 islands in the Philippibnes with only 2,000 that are inhabited. She spoke about how various plants fibres are used to make bags. Analiza showed a PowerPoint presentation which included some short videos about the harvesting, dyeing and weaving using these fibres. She did this in such an enjoyable way, with so many interesting facts during the talk. Some of the ladies bought bags and purses which had been made by people in the Philippines. Linda C gave the vote of thanks. 

Our next event is the Open Meeting at 7-30pm on Tuesday the 11th August. Members and guests will be entertained by Jack Dent - JD Magic. On Tuesday the 8th September we will welcome Jon Webb - The Bug Man. 

Meetings are held in the Village Hall at 7-30pm on the second Tuesday of the month - new members and guests are always welcome..

Stowe WI also holds a monthly coffee morning at Stowe Village Hall on the 4th Thursday of the month. Everyone is welcome between 10-00am and midday.
