Hixon Resident, David Warner writes... This year marks 140 years of the NSPCC and 40 years of Childline (now part of NSPCC — and it also happens to be my 40th birthday. To mark both milestones, I’m taking on a charity challenge that combines adventure, creativity, and fundraising, all in support of a cause that works tirelessly to protect children across the UK. The challenge is to buy or build a small camper-van, turning it into a fully usable, off-grid camper with solar power and a proper leisure battery setup. Once complete, I’ll drive it from the UK to the Nürburgring in Germany and back again within 72 hours, living entirely in the camper along the way — sleeping, eating, and traveling as it was designed to be used. At the end of the challenge, the completed camper will be raffled! The aim is to raise as much money as possible for the NSPCC, helping them continue their vital work supporting and protecting children Every donation, no matter the size, helps make a real difference. Thank you so much for your support — it genuinely means a lot.
