Joan Jones first started playing for St Mary's in 1951, since then she has played for over 3,000 services, marking the special events of several generations of Whixall people - marking their entries with Baptisms, every life event thereafter: Confirmations, Weddings, Funerals and Memorials.

Joan's remarkable career will be celebrated on 23 June, when the Archdeacon of Salop, the Venerable Paul Thomas, comes to lead a special Communion service and to make a Presentation to Joan.
