In order to collect Eco Church awards we need to reach certain targets in five areas:
· Worship and teaching
· Management of church buildings
· Community and global engagement
· Lifestyle
During the last twelve months we have……..
o Taken part in the global Tearfund Rubbish campaign
o We have encouraged people to participate in WWF’s annual Earth Hour (25th March)
o To mark Environment Sunday (2nd June) we held a Second-hand Sunday service where we encouraged everyone reuse clothing. We hosted the Salvation Army charity shop from Stone.
o We are investigating changing the heating system and installing double glazing in the church building to reduce our carbon footprint
o Replaced the lighting in church with LED bulbs to reduce our carbon footprint
o Been awarded a Nature-Friendly Churchyard 2023 from the Diocese of Lichfield
