Getting here

St. John's is the most northerly church within Sussex in the
Chichester Diocese, close to Gatwick Airport, and between the
the towns of Crawley and East Grinstead.

The church is at the heart of a lively local community, and the
worship and activities reflect this. We are mission-minded, and
church services reflect both our traditional village setting, as
well as our contemporary society and airport context.

The Labyrinth Memorial Garden was installed at St John's in
2003, inspired by the Chartres Cathedral labyrinth.

In 2012 it was discovered that the church had a rare turret clock built by John Hoch and built in the late 19th Century.  This has just been restored in 2012.

Our purpose?
Helping the community of Copthorne to
        know Jesus more clearly,
        love Him more dearly,
        and follow Him more nearly.
          (after St Richard of Chichester)
