SERVICES at ST BARTHOLOMEW'S CHURCH, EGDEAN
Egdean is a hamlet situated one mile from the historic town of Petworth, which overlooks the Rother valley and the South Downs. The Church of St Bartholomew's, Egdean is in a rural location in the midst of the South Downs National Park. The church is believed to have been built to serve the once extensive farming community in the area.
The worship at St. Bartholomew's is of a simple, traditional style. We are of a welcoming, friendly and open nature, and our church is a relaxed, peaceful environment in which people come to worship. It is a quiet, contemplative place that comes alive for community events and for our services every Sunday. Our church remains open all the time and we regularly receive walkers and cyclists passing through, following the myriad of locals trails and footpaths. Family members also come from afar to pay their respects to their relatives buried in the graveyard, which is in an unspoilt setting surrounded by woodland and fields, with plentiful wild flowers. All are very welcome.
