A young carers look after a family member who is ill, they spend time looking after other members of the family (often younger siblings) by carrying out chores such as cooking, cleaning, look after that persons personal needs etc as well as providing emotional support.  Once aware of the large number of children fulfilling a caring role we wanted to create a group where they could come, have some fun and provide them with a little time to do something for themselves. 

Once a month we organise a fun afternoon with activities, snacks and drinks for our 'hidden heroes' to come along and enjoy themselves. We were very sad when we had to close the group due to Covid but are pleased to say we have been able to restart the group and recently held a circus skills workshop for the children.
