St James-the-Less is your parish church in the northern part of Lancing. We are a friendly and welcoming congregation, committed to growing, sharing and serving the wider community. Coombes Church is located in the South Downs in the midst of rolling farmland. These two churches and communities that worship in these beautiful and ancient buildings form the parish of Lancing with Coombes. The church is the people of God, who worship in two beautiful and ancient buildings. We are the 'living stones' that make up the church: we worship together, pray together, have fun together, eat together, look after one another and work together for the good of the community and the building up of God's kingdom. None of us are perfect, but we seek to be a church that lives out God's love for one another. We meet regularly to worship God in the services of Morning and Evening Prayer and the Holy Eucharist (also sometimes called the Mass).
The parish of Lancing with Coombes is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Chichester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
