A friend of mine once told me, quite proudly, that his faith was “C&E”. When I asked what that meant, he explained that he was Christmas and Easter - nothing more, nothing less. And of course, many people are. But as we head into autumn, I suggested he might consider becoming C&E+: Christmas and Easter Plus. Because the “plus” is where some of the most quietly meaningful moments of the church year live - the ones that don’t come with carols or chocolate eggs, but with community, gratitude, memory and belonging.
