POP-UP PLANT AND CAKE SALE On Saturday 11th July we held an extremely successful plant and cake sale at Pagham Church Centre, Nyetimber Lane. The event raised much needed funding for the church but was also very successful social afternoon. This event was only made possible by the generosity of a number of local businesses providing us with the produce to sell and we are very grateful for all of their support. Newey Wholesale Plant Nursery provided a large selection of plants - Hydrangeas, Gerberas, Cana Lillies, Sunflowers and Begonias Vitacress provided boxes of herbs and larger pots of herbs - Rosemary, Basil, Thyme. Coriander, Parsley and Mint Barfoots provided a large selection of fresh vegetables - Sweet Corn, Butternut Squash, Green Beans, Broccoli and Courgettes. Donations from Runcton Farm Shop and Manor Nursery. Large numbers of people visited during the afternoon to snap up the plants and produce, and also to purchase some delicious home made cakes. Tea, coffee and home made cakes were served throughout the afternoon with people staying to sit and chat. Thank you to all who supported this event and once again thank you to our generous donators of produce.
Once again a small team of Flower Arrangers fromour church, together with some friends, participated in the Chichester Festival of Flowers.This year they arranged three large hanging displays in the main aisle.
This year’s Thy Kingdom Come is all about the presence of God through His spirit. Thy Kingdom Come is a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer. The God who is with us in the everyday – in the joys and sorrows of life (and everything in between) and the One who, through His spirit, longs to reveal Himself to those who do not yet know Him. We invite you to pray at the prayer stations around the Church
For more than 20 years members of our congregation and the wider community have supported the 'Link to Hope Shoe Box Appeal'. The boxes are filled either with items which can be shared between family members, or are filled with items more suitable to elderly members of the community. The boxes are transported to either Romania, Moldova, Romania or the Ukraine and are distributed by the charity's volunteers. It is an opportunity to share love, joy and hope to those in need.This year we have collected more than 50 boxes, and these with 100 knitted blankets contributed by our Knit and Natter Group and other willing knitters, will be delivered to the Link to Hope Warehouse later this month.
