About Us

Christ Church is one of three beautiful, holy, historic churches that have served the local communities making up the modern-day Parish of ASCAT for centuries. The other churches are St Barthomew’s in Albourne and St Peter's in Twineham. Christ Church was built in the 19th Century by the neighbouring Parish of Hurstpierpoint and can be found  just off the A23 10 miles North of Brighton.

These churches are sacred spaces where heaven and earth have met in Christian worship, prayer and fellowship since Norman times. They have been places of celebration and solace; of marking the rites of passage of life; and of countless generations meeting with God in private prayer and public worship.

HOLY COMMUNION SUNDAY SERVICES at 10.00am

Our churchmanship tradition and style of worship are inclusive ‘Middle of the Road’, aiming to embrace the spiritual needs of as broad a cross section of the community as possible. There is a choir and short sermon that addresses contemporary issues from a Biblical perspective. The service lasts for about an hour and you are welcome to join us for coffee, tea and a chat afterwards.

ASCAT is an inclusive parish that believes in a church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We believe in Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.
