About Us

St Mark’s was formed out of the Cuckfield parish and the church built in 1848. It is clear from the moment you enter that the building has a colourful artistic heritage and is home to a beautiful mural by Kempe which was restored in 2010.

Worship at the church aims to be reflective and relevant within a traditional framework using both the Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship.

The church is linked to the neighbouring St Mark's CofE Primary School and regularly hosts school services.

For several years St Mark's has been part of a United Benefice with the adjacent parish of Slaugham and since January 2023 has merged with it to become the united parish of Slaugham and Staplefield Common.
