St Mary's is the Church of England parish church for Storrington (and Cootham) in West Sussex. Whoever you are, you'll find a warm welcome at our services and activities. We believe that everyone is loved by God and is part of his family. Whatever your background, whatever your level of faith or doubt, whatever the story of your life, we'll be glad to see you.
Our church is normally open during the day - many people use it - and the peaceful churchyard has beautiful views over the South Downs National Park. It's a great place to be, and a great place to be yourself.
SUNDAY WORSHIP
On Sunday, we gather in the church building for worship at 8am Holy Communion (BCP) for a quiet said service and at 10am for Parish Holy Communion (Common Worship) our main morning service with hymns and sermon, and refreshments served afterwards. The service is also available on Zoom - please enquire for details. On the 1st and 2nd Sundays we meet at 6pm for Evensong (BCP), a quiet traditional service of sung Evening Prayer, followed with hymns and sermon.
On the first Sunday of the month is Family Worship at 10am. An informal service All-age and family friendly, interactive worship, sometimes with Holy Communion, with refreshments served afterwards.
MIDWEEK WORSHIP
During the week we meet for worship on the 2nd Wednesday in the month at 10am for Wednesday Morning Holy Communion (BCP). This is followed by Café in the Church – refreshments and friendly chat.
On the 4th Wednesday in the month at 2pm for Wednesday Afternoon Holy Communion (BCP). This is followed by Café in the Church – refreshments and friendly chat.
SAFEGUARDING
The parish of Storrington: St Mary, is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), SO’s. The Diocese of Chichester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs.
