Opening

Owing to the Covid-19 situation, our church building is currently closed, and our main worship now comprises a Said Mass recorded by the Rector, and broadcast via our website at 10:30 on Sundays.  Our Administrator is available to take routine enquiries on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 09:00 - 13:00. See our "Get in touch" page for details.

Getting here

We are situated in a mainly residential "upland" part of St Leonards, just a half mile or so from the seafront. Our church, with its slightly unusual truncated spire, is a visible landmark on the skyline from miles away...  it can be seen from Bulverhythe beach, the Hastings East Hill, the end of the pier, or from the Ridge! We are surrounded by wide streets with free on-road parking, so we are convenient for those travelling by car. There's a bus stop right outside, on the Pevensey Road side of church, and the number 23/23A and 26/26A buses run every few minutes. If you're travelling by train, we are a 15 minute uphill walk from St Leonards Warrior Square railway station (depending on how fit you are!) Lastly - it's worth checking you're heading to the right church! There is a second "St John the Evangelist" church in town... in the Hollington area of Hastings. So if you're heading for that family wedding, funeral or Christening, please double-check you're coming to the correct St Johns!

Have a safe journey!
