What a lovely morning we had at our Macmillan Coffee Morning in Barkby! The church was full of cheerful chatter, with old friends catching up, new friendships beginning and all ages enjoying time together. Even a few four-legged friends brought their owners along—and we’re pleased to say they were a very generous bunch! Our star bakers, Sarah and Pat, pulled out all the stops once again, while Sue—our Welsh cake queen—kept everyone happily supplied. With cakes and savouries galore, there was more than enough to go around (although plenty of people still managed to find room for seconds!). Best of all, we raised a fantastic £460, beating last year’s total—and Gift Aid will add even more. A huge thank-you to everyone who baked, helped, donated or simply came along for a cuppa and a chat. You made the morning a real treat. With warm wishes from all of us at St Mary’s Church, Barkby.
