‘Art in the Dale - new perspectives on landscape in Malhamdale' exhibition, 6th to 16th May at St Michael’s Church, Kirkby Malham. This exhibition will draw together work from Malhamdale artists Katharine Holmes, David and Heather Cook, Beverley Hicks, Sarah Roche, Stephen Waterhouse, Fiona Armer, Mark Pilkington, and David Bridges. There will be a wide range of original work on display, and for sale, including paintings, collage, etchings, drawings, felt-work, and photography. Some of our artists have been working with pupils at Kirkby-in-Malhamdale Primary School, so the exhibition will include pieces made by the children as well. Admission to the exhibition is free, but we would very much appreciate donations to support our running costs. Coffee and biscuits will be available each morning, and tea with home-made cake will be available each afternoon from 2-4pm. The opening hours are 9am to 6pm.

Many of the artists taking part will be in attendance at weekends, especially on Sunday 15th May from 2pm, and are happy to talk with visitors about what inspires them and how they create their work.

There will also be live music during some of the weekend afternoon sessions, including Jon Moreman and his jazz friends at the Opening Event, 4pm to 6pm on Saturday 7th May. John Skilleter and the Cello Group will be playing earlier that afternoon, Rombald's Strings will be playing in the afternoon on Sunday 8th May, and local cellist Christine Dittman and her string quartet ‘Ings Strings’ will be playing on Saturday 14th May during the afternoon, and finishing with a special evening concert at 7pm that day.

More details about the exhibition can be found on the church website www.kirkbymalhamchurch.org and on our FB page www.facebook.com/KirkbyMalhamChurch
