Developing a thriving Christian Community in Apperley Bridge and Greengates
St John's is a friendly, growing church serving the communities of Apperley Bridge and Greengates, on the northern edge of the city of Bradford.
We meet every Sunday at 4pm (usually in the Church Hall) - sometimes for Cafe Church, sometimes for a Prayer Space, and sometimes just to have some fun - check out the 'services and events' section for a bit more detail.
As well as this, we have a small mid-week communion service at 9:30am every Wednesday. Sunday Morning Communion services are held to mark significant days in the church calendar.
Everyone is welcome to join us for any of our services - whether you are a regular church-goer or someone who has never set foot inside church before in your life! If you do come along and decide you'd like to find out a bit more about this God stuff, someone's always happy to have an excuse to go for a Costa and talk some more, and we run a great 'Christian basics' course yearly. This is always a really enjoyable experience, as a group of likeminded people get together over coffee and cake, talk through some of the 'BIG' questions that we often forget to think about, and just have a good time together.
Our toddler group, Jolly Tots, meets on a Monday afternoons 12.30-2.30pm (term time only). There are lots of toys, craft activities, a healthy snack and a singing session. All under 5's and their carers are welcome. We also have an after-school club, SEE, for primary-age pupils and their parents. This runs on Tuesdays, 3:15-4:15pm (term time only).
The Church Hall is used for a range of community activities during the week, including Cubs, Scouts, Brownies, Over 50's, Over 50's dance class and Horsforth Sequence Dance Group. The hall is also available for hire for parties. (Ring Mrs Johnson 01274 620968
