Recently an inspection of St John the Baptist church was undertaken by a qualified surveyor. This happens every five years. (A Quinquennial)At the same time builders were employed for a morning to repair any deterioration that has occurred since the last inspection. This was an ideal opportunity to fix a few damp areas and clear the drainage gulleys. There is still so much to do but funds are very low. Please see our donation section if you are able to make a contribution towards the upkeep of SJB or would like to leave a legacy.A churchyard clear up has been done too. I think everyone will agree the visibility of the church from the road is improved considerably. We desperately need a few volunteers with a strimmer to regularly keep the grass in check. Please contact the churchwarden if you are able to do this. 07850 855222
Having had to close our church buildings for over three months during lockdown, many of our churches and communities have lost out on vital funding that is received through weekly collections and fund raising activities. These donations help us to serve those in our communities, keep our churches open and support vulnerable people during difficult times by providing pastoral care. The Diocese of Norwich has created a way that makes charitable giving to any of our churches (or indeed the whole Reepham and Wensum Valley Benefice) really simple. The new site allows you to make a one-off donation or a monthly payment to the church or parish of your choice. The donation will be set against the church’s Parish Share which goes primarily towards the costs of our clergy with the rest contributing towards to the Diocese central provision which benefits us all.For more information, please visit the site here: https://www.dioceseofnorwich.org/donate/
