Church Walking Group

We are fortunate at St Cuthbert’s to have a number of seasoned walkers within our congregation and from the wider community and we regular walk (and talk!) either by ourselves or with local walking groups – see below.

We are very lucky to have such wonderful walking country literally right on the doorstep. Regular rambles locally and further afield are held throughout the year, both at the weekend and during the week. The walks are usually between 6 – 9 miles and over a variety of terrain, such as Darwen Moors, The Ribble Valley or even into The Yorkshire Dales. Nearly all the walks feature a café or pub at the end. In the lighter months shorter evening walks locally to the area are put on.

Short local history walks are occasionally available. New members, and well behaved dogs, are always welcome and we are currently looking to extend our walking range to more family friendly walks such as a short pushchair walk through Sunnyhurst Woods and mid week or after school short walks.

For more information about going out walking and enjoying nature please speak to Jane.
