St. Cuthbert's

Welcome to the parish church of St Cuthbert’s Darwen, which has been a place of prayer and worship, study and teaching, love and fellowship here in our town for well over 100years. Built in 1878 to serve the growing needs of the town, St Cuthbert’s strives to do the same today by 'being here for Christ and there for others'. The celebration of the Eucharist, often called the mass or Holy Communion, is at the heart of all we do.

We gather on the following days and times for worship

Sunday

8-9am Eucharist

10.30am Sung Eucharist with Sunday School

6pm BCP Choral Evensong (3rd Sunday of the month)

Weekdays

Wednesday 10am Book of Common Prayer

Thursday 7pm Eucharist

Saturday 9:30am Eucharist

Major feast days are kept with a celebration of the Eucharist and the seasons of Christmas and Holy Week and Easter kept with due solemnity.

Promoting a Safer Church

St. Cuthbert's have adopted the House of Bishops’ Safeguarding Policy and Practice Guidance.

We also display the Promoting a Safer Church poster prominently within our church. This is in the entrance hall to Church along with relevant phone numbers and contact details.

All those working with children and adults at risk have undergone safer recruitment and received safeguarding training.
